Embedded Systems Software Developer – Android Development

Job Summary:
As an Embedded Software Developer you will be part of a core technology team developing software for a sophisticated green energy heating and air conditioning product. The software system interacts with dozens of sensors and controllers to provide real-time climate conditioning. The software will be developed in Java or C for Android tablets.
The key job requirement is that you must have a solid understanding of Android development with a strong background in C and Java programming. Hardware design knowledge is not a requirement, but an understanding of how it interacts with other systems is an asset (on job training can be provided).

Hours of operation: 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with 1/2 hour lunch. Flex hours available.
Essential Functions: Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to customers for both troubleshooting and sales.
- Communicate technical information, concepts, and solutions in a professional yet “consumer friendly” manner.
- Establish, maintain, and improve customer relationships.
- Continuously train to become an expert in the installation, application and service of Ecologix equipment.
- Make occasional site visits for troubleshooting and to act as technical support for customer sales staff.
- Perform heat loss/heat gain calculations, equipment sizing/selection, and duct design for customer sites. (Training will be provided.)

A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science (transcripts may be requested)
Enthusiasm and a keen willingness to learn
Experience in Android Development
Strong programming knowledge of C and Java
Some knowledge of hardware design and Arduino development is an asset but not required
Excellent communication skills
